Bitutainer Packing

Bitutainers are specially designed containers for the transport of bulk bitumen.

Description: These containers have a heating system that keeps the bitumen at the required temperature. Bitutainers are ideal for both road and sea transport.

Benefits: They offer the advantage of temperature control, making them suitable for long-distance transport without compromising the quality of the bitumen. They also minimize spillage risks and reduce handling time.

Bagged Bitumen (Solid Bitumen)

In regions where liquid bitumen handling is difficult, bitumen is sometimes processed into solid form and packed in smaller bags.

Forms: The bitumen can be packed in granular, flake, or block forms.

Benefits: This method allows for easier handling and storage at ambient temperatures, reducing the need for specialized heating equipment. It is also ideal for long-term storage without the risk of degradation.

Jumbo Bag Packing

Jumbo bags, also known as big bags or bulk bags, are used for transporting larger quantities of solid or semi-solid bitumen.

Sizes: These bags can hold up to 1 metric ton of bitumen.

Benefits: Jumbo bags are cost-effective, easy to transport, and can be handled using standard lifting equipment like forklifts or cranes. They are particularly useful for storage in remote locations where traditional bulk handling is not feasible.

Polybag Packing

Polybag packing is a newer and increasingly popular method for transporting bitumen, especially for smaller or more remote projects.

Description: Bitumen is packed in heat-resistant, recyclable plastic bags, typically in sizes ranging from 25 kg to 50 kg. The bags are often placed inside cartons for additional protection.

Benefits: Polybags are easy to handle and store. They are environmentally friendly, as the bags can be melted along with the bitumen during use, leaving no waste. Additionally, they reduce the need for heated storage and are ideal for areas with limited infrastructure.
